| Some Notes on: From Cathetus to Cicero Cathetus can curiously be defined an illegitimate son. Usually the legitimate fathers of a record are the discographers. Not for Cathetus. This is a record that an architect suggested to make to an industries business man: the business man accepted the tip and so the architect talked with Franco Cerri, who came to me and asked me to produce this record. Told in this way, the story results absolutely true, except for one important element, the propulsive motor of the whole thing: friendship. The architect was more than a collegue, also a great friend of the business man and an even greater estimator and friend of Franco. Franco on his turn was not only my brotherly friend and business partner but also the main guest in some radio and tv programms for which I wrote the lines. Anyway, the original idea of the architect and business man to make a Christmas record for a gadget arrived at the right person, the one who writes across the unique wire of friendship. From these roots, discographically illegitimate but humanly beautiful, is born a serene and joyful production without people getting nervous or upset, which are more than normal things during the production of programms or records. No, thinking it over, there are some other examples of jobs like the Cathetus one in which Franco involved me; the other 3 records made for other Christmasses that form that small range, that for the first time out of commercial point of view will come to the light with this label. Note su : From Cathetus to Cicero Cathetus può, un po' curiosamente, definirsi un figlio illegittimo. Normalmente, padri legittimi di un disco sono i discografici. Non per Cathetus. E', questo, un disco che un architetto ha suggerito a un industriale; l'industriale ha gradito il suggerimento; allora l'architetto ha parlato a Franco Cerri, che è venuto da me e mi ha detto di produrre questo disco. Detta così, la storia risulta assolutamente vera, ma manca dell'elemento più importante, del vero motore propulsivo di tutta la vicenda: l'amicizia. L'architetto era, oltre che collaboratore, grande amico dell'industriale e grandissimo estimatore e amico di Franco. Franco, a sua volta, oltre ad essere mio amico fraterno e condivisore di ufficio, era anche protagonista di alcune trasmissioni, radiofoniche e televisive, per le quali io avevo scritto i testi. Insomma, l'idea originale di fare un disco-strenna natalizia da parte di un industria è arrivata sino a chi scrive attraverso l'unico canale dell'amicizia. Da queste origini, discograficamente illegittime, ma umanamente bellissime, è nata una produzione serena e gioiosa, senza problemi, arrabbiature e nervosismi, come quasi mai avviene nella realizzazione di un disco o di una trasmissione. No, ripensandoci, ci sono altri esempi di lavori del tipo di Cathetus nei quali Franco mi ha coinvolto: sono gli altri tre dischi che, per altrettanti Natali, hanno formato quella piccola serie che verrà alla luce, per la prima volta dal punto di vista commerciale, con questa etichetta.
